Farao

Founded a decade ago with the idea of shifting the artistic process of making a recording of music, from the planning stages, through the actual recording, editing and mixing right up to releasing the recording, completely into the hands of musicians.

The advantages of being an independent recording company can also be seen in the areas of marketing and publicity – short channels, personal commitment and passion for the product.

R
Ramee

Founded in 2004 by Rainer Arndt.

In only four years, RAMÉE has established itself as a greatly respected label on the Early Music scene. Many releases from its limited catalogue have been highly acclaimed by public and press alike, several receiving numerous awards. Each year sees the production of only six to eight recordings, featuring »hand-picked«, quality repertoire seldom or never-before recorded, or more well-known works in new and exceptional interpretations. The small company maintains extremely high standards not only in the aural aspect of the recording itself, but also in the musicological, literary, graphic and tactile quality of the jacket and liner notes. RAMÉE creates CDs as complete objets d'art, because they believe the ear's pleasure is intimately tied together with that of the eye and the hand. A collection for connoisseurs!

Raumklang

Raumklang recordings have received numerous prestigious awards such as the Diapason 5 and the Midem Classical Award. Its catalogue focuses on early music, from the Middle Ages to the Baroque with excursions into the Classical and Romantic, and features soprano Julia Banse, Amarcord vocal ensemble, Dresden Chamber Choir, Sequentia and other leading European artists and ensembles.
Red Priest

Red Priest is the only early music group in the world to have been compared in the press to the Rolling Stones, Jackson Pollock, the Marx Brothers, Spike Jones and the Cirque du Soleil. This extraordinary acoustic foursome has been described by music critics as ‘visionary and heretical’, ‘wholly irreverent and highly enlightened’, with a ‘red-hot wicked sense of humour’ and a ‘ break-all-rules, rock-chamber concert approach to early music.’ Founded in 1997, and named after the flame-haired priest, Antonio Vivaldi, Red Priest has four exciting releases on its own label to date.
Resonus

Based in the UK and launched in the spring of 2011, the award-winning classical label Resonus Classics has a growing reputation for high resolution classical music recordings supporting diverse and eclectic repertoire with artists from across the globe including the UK, the Netherlands, France, Iceland, Australia and the USA. In 2015-16 Resonus won both a Gramophone Award and a BBC Music Magazine Award for its highly-regarded recording with David Watkin of J.S. Bach’s oft-recorded Cello Suites.

Releasing at least 25 albums each year in wide range of genres and periods, Resonus has a constantly expanding catalogue of albums with repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to the present day, including an increasing number of world premieres. Resonus focusses on high-end artists and appealing, challenging repertoire that aims to satisfy the hardened collector and audiophile and those beginning their interest in classical music. Since it was founded, Resonus has garnered much critical acclaim with a growing number of five-star reviews and editor’s choices.
Retrospective

The Retrospective label is a new venture from Ray Crick, the mastermind behind the world-famous Living Era label.

Living Era was for many years the world’s leading Nostalgia label and its demise in 2007 at the hands of Universal Music was a serious loss to fans of vintage popular music. Happily, Ray Crick’s Retrospective label is here to fill that void!  Titles include 2-CD sets by George Formby, Fred Astaire, Humphrey Lyttelon, Nat King Cole, Paul Robeson and Tony Martin, and single CDs by Andre Previn, Eartha Kitt, Louis Armstrong and Sammy Davis Jr. All Retrospective releases feature the best possible restored sound and are packaged with a fresh new look that will, nevertheless, bring back happy memories of the much-loved Living Era covers!
Ricercar

Each recording is made with the greatest respect possible for the history and origins of the work concerned; this goes from the use of the most authentic sources possible for the score to the choice of the musicians and the instruments that are most suited to the particular type of repertoire.
Rondeau

Rondeau presents the highest quality choral music performed by St. Thomas’s Leipzig (Bach’s ‘original’ choir), Knabenchor Hannover, and Windsbacher Knabenchor, with leading soloists and orchestras including Christine Schafer and Thomas Quasthoff. Organ music is also featured on this label. From Bach to Bruckner, Reger to Rutter, Homilius to Holst, and many other composers, there is much to enjoy on these beautiful recordings.
Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

The Orchestra is London-based and performs regularly at the Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall and Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, as well as undertaking a busy schedule of UK concerts, international tours, recordings for CD, film and television, and community and education work.

Toccata Classics

Toccata Classics is a label dedicated to producing recordings of the huge amount of top-notch classical music that the concert halls and major record companies are ignoring. We make a point of seeking out interesting composers from less familiar musical cultures and from all periods, in the Nordic and Baltic countries, in central and eastern Europe, Russia and further afield.

Toccata Classics was launched in 2005 to bring you these forgotten gems. We now have over 200 CDs in the catalogue with, in the pipeline, recordings of music by Alkan, Auric, Bacevičius, Beck, Adolf Busch, Cotter Nixon, Dayas, Ernst, Farwell, Farkas, Juon, Hasse, Karayev, John Kinsella, Krenek, Loder, David Matthews, Nanino, Nenov, Nieminen, O’Brien, Raykhelson, Reicha, Sabaneyev, Sarro, Sekles, Shebalin, Tartini, Matthew Taylor, Telemann, Tomasi, Vladigerov, Robin Walker, Weinberg and many more.

The journey on which Toccata Classics is launched might never end, but it will be an exciting voyage of discovery nonetheless. And we hope that you will want to come on board for the ride. That’s where the Toccata Discovery Club comes in. In the first place this music is being discovered for people like you (and then, of course, for audiences further afield, we hope). When you join the Discovery Club, you get instant access to everything we do at a considerable discount, and you’ll be able to buy each new CD — at a discount, of course — long before it comes into the shops. We want you to share our sense of excitement as each new recording is made and our anticipation as it nears release.
