Her big break came performing with the gypsy ensemble Mostar Sevdah Reunion, her 2005 debut solo album finding its way onto several ‘Album of the Year’ lists. Accompanied by Merima Ključo, one of the world's finest classical accordionists, Amira looks at these traditional songs under a new light, rediscovering them and presenting them as the true gems they are. Here is a refreshing new take on the jazz repertory of the 1930s. After his albums Fats Domino's True Spirit and Doo-wop Mattheiu Borré offers a little jewel full of sensitivity and emotion, a blend of standards and original compositions. In this opus, he reaches back into the songs from the American musicals which marked his childhood and the music of Georges Gershwin which he discovered at the end of his classical piano studies. In terms of musical color, Mattheiu Boré's primary source of inspriation is the intimate and nonchalant universe of Hoogy Carmichael emphasizing the essential: 'a melody and lyrics'.

The art of O'Rourke and Connors lies in letting one feel the immobility within movement. Pianist, composer, conductor, artistic director and producer Antoiné Hervé is a household name on the French music scene. After graduating from Paris Conservatory, he received several prizes, among them the Django Reinhardt Award from the Académie du Jazz in 1985. From 1987 to 1989, he conducted the French Orchestre national de Jazz in more than 140 concerts. In the jazz field, he has performed and recorded with international stars such as Markus Stockhausen, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Gil Evans and Quincy Jones.

His 1958 hit single 'Move It' is often described as Britain’s first authentic rock and roll song, and John Lennon once claimed that 'before Cliff and the Shadows, there had been nothing worth listening to in British music'. Based on a book by Arthur Laurents with music written by Jule Tyne and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, the show adapted the memoirs of burlesque artist Gypsy Rose Lee, focusing on her mother Rose. It affectionately recounts her efforts to raise her two daughters and launch their stage careers. The musical was produced by David Merrick and directed by Jerome Robbins. Ethel Merman starred as Rose, Jack Klugman as Herbie and Sandraw Church as Louise. This production received no less than eight Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, Best Actress in a Musical and Best Featured Actor in a Musical. Ray Conniff was the man who popularised wordless vocal choruses and light orchestral accompaniment on a mix of popular standards and contemporary hits of the 1950s and 60s. He was a trombone player for Bunny Berigan’s Orchestra and Bob Crosby’s Bobcats before being hired as an arranger by Mitch Miller in 1954. After he wrote the charts for several sizeable Columbia hits during the mid-’50s, Conniff became a solo artist as well, applying his arranging techniques to instrumental easy listening for the booming adult album market. The result, 12 Top Ten LPs and well over 50 million total albums sold, cemented his status as one of the top LP sellers of all time.
