Two hard-edged albums from Bluesman Muddy Waters, originally recorded for the Chess label Dating from 1968 and 1969, the albums were directed at a new younger audience for Muddy and his band. Critically, these recordings had a mixed reaction but commercially they were a success, with Electric Mud being Muddy’s first US Top 200 album.

Family’s third and fourth albums, both from 1970: A Song For Me reached No. 7 and Anyway No.11 in the UK album charts. No Mule’s Fool, included here as a bonus track, was UK Top 30.

The year 2011 marks the 40th anniversary of Bill Nelson’s recording career and to celebrate this Esoteric Recordings announce a new release on their recently launched Cocteau Discs imprint, the lavish boxed set The Practice of Everyday Life - Celebrating Forty Years of Recordings. Of all of the experimental groups who emerged in Germany the early 1970s, Agitation Free was certainly one of the most musically adventurous. From their beginnings in Berlin in 1967, the band embraced the concept of performing long and free improvisations, experimenting with the use of liquid projectors, slide shows and their own films in live performances.

Recorded at a cross roads in Arthur Brown's career, the album saw him experiment with the lengthy side-long title track, collaborating once more with former Crazy World band mate Vincent Crane and Kingdom Come guitarist Andy Dalby. The result was one of the most fascinating and creative albums recorded by Arthur in the 1970s. Features superb version of I Put A Spell On You and a series of shorter tracks.

Green Desert took over a decade from it’s initial recording sessions to completion. The project began life in a Berlin Studio. Tangerine Dream's Green Desert, is a 1973 classic which has a cult following. Locked away in Edgar Froese's personal archive for many years, in 1984 the recordings were remixed with additional recordings at Eastgate Studio in Vienna, finally appearing in 1986.

This disc is a newly re-mastered edition of Tangerine Dream’s classic soundtrack to the legendary film Sorcerer, directed by William Friedkin in 1976. Tangerine Dream members Edgar Froese, Christopher Franke and Peter Bau Mann composed a stunning electronic score which perfectly accompanied Friedkin’s imagery and was the bands first commission for a Hollywood movie. This Esoteric Reactive edition is newly re-mastered and includes restored original album artwork and a lavishly illustrated booklet with new essay.
