Michael Mower's Concerto for Flute and Wind Band uses a variety of popular styles including swing, Latin, and rock. Were You There? by John P. Lynch is based on the traditional hymn tune. John Mackey's Redline Tango won the American Bandmaster's Association Ostwald Composition Contest, 2005.
